Unlike other locks that use optical readers, both Secure Plus bolt and latch editions come equipped with a capacitive fingerprint reader that stores your fingerprint and helps prevent the use of lifted prints. This lock was definitely made by people who know what’s up. It has a changing keypad that either changes every time you unlock the lock. Or it can change every time you press a button. The fingerprint scanner is spot on as well. The lock out button on the back is great if you dont want anyone to get inside. (Ie it disables the number pad) but the only down side is the finger print still work in lockout mode. It was really easy to pair to my phone as well. It allows you to make new codes or delete them remotely. And also make finger prints and save the names. So you can see who unlocked the lock and at what time. I very much will be buying more of these!

Update! The lock required a reset that Customerservice walked me through and it is working perfectly now! 2/9/19I had exchanged another lock for this one. Easy to install, seems sturdier. Issues we are having…Can’t get the fingerprint recognition to work and it is hit or miss with connection via the app if you are any distance away from it.

We put the non-fingerprint model on one house last year and everybody loved it. Recently I tried the fingerprint on my own home. For easy in and out with a lot of security I can’t imagine every going back to digging out a key in the dark or cold or accidentaly getting locked out. I never use the key on this – I don’t use the code either though it’s extremely cool. I just use the fingerprint – quick – easy. For some family members they have to get used to it but for me win-win. Downside-if the sun shines on it-you can’t see the codes and the entire lock gets HOT to touch.

It was very straight forward to install all by myself. Ok, it took a bit longer than the promised 10 minutes but done under 20 minutes mostly because my original strike plate was a different size.Pairing was easy and the app is really handy to set up users and codes/fingerprints.The fingerprint sensor is fast and accurate, but the screen is not useable in our bright desert climate during the day.So for people that are not sure whether to order the secure version or the upgraded plus and pro, if your lock is south/east facing, order the fingerprint lockly.
